Our Story

Founded in 2017, the Living Ladder Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska that provides vocational and educational advancement services for underprivileged individuals on a one-on-one basis, entirely free of charge. We're your advocates. Through job interviews, scholarship applications, or whatever life throws at you, we're on your side. We're here to do everything we can to make sure you realize your full potential and maximize your God-given abilities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower individuals with the mechanisms required for self-improvement and advancement, specifically through education and employment. We understand that true, lasting change isn’t something that can be given. Rather, if we are serious about helping to improve another’s station in life, the only way that may be accomplished is through self-actualization and dedication. Our organization merely seeks to be the vessel through which this may be accomplished.

Our Goals

We believe that the best way to positively effect change in our community is to provide individuals with tools with which they might climb out of adverse circumstances and realize the American dream. We know that finding employment or navigating the complex field of education can be challenging and even scary at times. Let us use our experience and passion to improve your station and transform your life. Through a network of changed lives, we aim to create a figurative ladder of opportunity.

“Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.”

- George Washington Carver

What We Do

We pick up where other organizations leave off by dedicating our time to personal, one-on-one interactions that guide individuals to success.

Educational Advancement

Education is the key to social mobility.

That’s why we'll provide you with information about local colleges and educational programs. Through one-on-one sessions, we're here to walk you through the challenging and confusing aspects of a college application, a personal statement, or the logistics of secondary education.

Vocational Advancement

Finding a job and writing a resume can be intimidating. At times, it can even be difficult to know where to start.

We have resources to help identify jobs that fit your strengths. We'll help you create, edit, format, and build a strong resume that will set you apart from other job applicants so you can get your life back on track.

Interview Skills

Interviews are like sports—you can read tips and take advice from the greats, but there's only one way to ensure success: practice. We're here to provide mock interviews and real-time feedback to make sure you're ready for any interview coming your way.

Scholarship Applications

We can help you overcome your financial obstacles by finding and applying for scholarships and financial aid offered by local colleges, the federal government, and various other sources that will facilitate your educational advancement.

Miscellaneous

If there’s something you need help with that you don’t see listed—please ask! Odds are, we can help you in one way or another. From job training to private tutoring, we’ll do everything we can to ensure your success.
