Founded in 2017, the Living Ladder Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska that provides vocational and educational advancement services
Our mission is to empower individuals with the mechanisms required for self-improvement and advancement, specifically through education and employment. We understand that true, lasting change isn’t something that can be given. Rather, if we are serious about helping to improve another’s station in life, the only way that may be accomplished is through self-actualization and dedication. Our organization merely seeks to be the vessel through which this may be accomplished.
We believe that the best way to positively effect change in our community is to provide individuals with tools with which they might climb out of adverse circumstances and realize the American dream. We know that finding employment or navigating the complex field of education can be challenging and even scary at times. Let us use our experience and passion to improve your station and transform your life. Through a network of changed lives, we aim to create a figurative ladder of opportunity.

Education is the key to social mobility.
That’s why we'll provide you with information about local colleges and educational programs. Through one-on-one sessions, we're here to walk you through the challenging and confusing aspects of a college application, a personal statement, or the logistics of secondary education.
Finding a job and writing a resume can be intimidating. At times, it can even be difficult to know where to start.
We have resources to help identify jobs that fit your strengths. We'll help you create, edit, format, and build a strong resume that will set you apart from other job applicants so you can get your life back on track.
Interviews are like sports—you can read tips and take advice from the greats, but there's only one way to ensure success: practice. We're here to provide mock interviews and real-time feedback to make sure you're ready for any interview coming your way.
We can help you overcome your financial obstacles by finding and applying for scholarships and financial aid offered by local colleges, the federal government, and various other sources that will facilitate your educational advancement.
If there’s something you need help with that you don’t see listed—please ask! Odds are, we can help you in one way or another. From job training to private tutoring, we’ll do everything we can to ensure your success.

We’re operated exclusively by volunteers. That means that every dime you give goes directly to the betterment of others’ lives. No one’s being cut a check—no one’s making any money. Moreover, because we qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, your generosity is tax deductible. Here are some typical things for which your donation might be used:
Accompany your donation with some basic contact information and we’ll promptly send you your donation receipt. Please know that your selflessness and kindness doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated, neither by us nor those we help.
If you have a passion for helping others and are willing to give of your time as a volunteer, please contact us so we can discuss how you can get involved in the service of others.
We offer four positions:
For applications, please indicate the position in which you’re interested (if Coach, indicate area of expertise) and include a resume or CV.
Spread the word! Before we can help people, we have to find people. That’s why we place such emphasis on community outreach. But the best and most convincing way to spread our message is through word of mouth, which is both easy and free!
Are you a local organization? We'd love to partner with you!
If you know of anyone that we might be able to help, please feel free to share our contact information. Or, if you’d like for us to come speak at an event or host a workshop, let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
As always, all of our services are entirely free of charge.
